S to the P to the E-L-L-I-N-G

Dear Stacey Ferguson (aka FERGIE),

I wanted to thank you for your commitment to child literacy. I can think of no other reason why, if not that, you feel compelled to spell in your recent songs. Please see examples below:

From, “Fergalicious” I'm the F to the E, R, G the I the E

And can't no other lady put it down like me…T to the A to the S T E Y girl you tasty, T to the A to the S T E Y girl you tastyD to the E to the L I C I O U S, to the D to the E to the, to the, to the, hit it Fergie

From “Glamorous”

G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, yeah
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

Glamorous and delicious were always tough to get right. Now, when children can’t remember if it was an O-U-S or I-O-U-S they will just have to think of you, your lyrics about vodka, dancing like a ho and keepin' it "real", and your fantastic back-beat.

For that, I thank you.

P.S. Fergie, there is no E in TASTY

Still Here

Well, it has been a very hectic few weeks for me but everything has finally seemed to settle down. Valentine's Day is over, Jazzercise Certification is over (I PASSED!), and I'm heading for warmer weather on Friday. Life is good... and I'm ready for a break!

I am *s0* excited that I passed Jazz certification, it could possibly be one of the most stressful things I've ever done! There is a written and performance component to the certification and both went fine. When I was checking into the hotel on Thursday I met three other ladies (all from Long Island) who were also there for Jazzercise so we all went to dinner together. I don't know if any of you know anyone from Long Island, but these ladies fit my expectations to a T of what a "Long-Islander" should be like. I have not laughed so hard in a very long time. It was so nice to be able to meet people that I never would have met otherwise and really have a great time. I think they most definitely could have had their own reality tv show.

In other news, I came home to find a box waiting for me from Preppy Potato ! I ordered a belt last week and it came! This is my first PP belt and I am in *love*. I've already worn it three times since I opened the box on Saturday. (I know.... I know, BUT I LOVE IT!) I'm trying to decide what I'm going to order next because I know I'm going to have to order another very soon. Jennifer over at PP says, "Preppy Potato believes the belt to be the finishing touch in every outfit. Wear it with jeans. Wear it over a blazer. Wear it to play golf...or wear it to work." Well, I've worn it with jeans, with a blazer and I have it on at work today so I have to agree. If any of you out there don't have one of these belts yet... order one today, I promise you will NOT be disapointed! (Pic of me wearing my new belt coming later today!)

I hope everyone is great, I have lots of blog-catching up to do!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

We are covered up here in Vermont in 36" of snow! I love it! It's taken all winter but it's finally looking beautiful here. Of course, the weather does create trecherous driving conditions... oh well. I'm putting in a few good hours here at work then I'm hitting the road and heading to New London, CT for my Jazzercise certification workshop. I am so nervous about it I could throw up. Hopefully by tomorrow at 11am I'll officially be a Jazzercise intstructor, but, if I fail, I'll be coming home early.

I'll keep everyone posted. If anyone else out there is snowed in today, enjoy it! Weather like this doesn't happen everyday! :)

Whew!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! It is officially OVER for me! (Thank GOD!) It has been crazy around here! We shipped over 100,000 packages out in the past two days. It is just insane, and to add to the madness... Howard Stern's tv channel wanted to come and have one of their regulars on the show participate in our Valentine's Day activity for an upcoming segment. Soooo, sometime in the future I will be featured on Howard Stern tv. God help me.

Peak

It's "peak" 'round these parts which means that I'm *very* busy at work. (By busy I mean working two full days Saturday and Sunday 6am-midnight Monday and 7am-11pm on Tuesday). I think (hope/pray) that we're going to be featured on Good Morning America this weekend which would be awesome! Because of the crazy schedule around here there are a multitude of snacks around and, the best part, there is a team of roaming massage therapists! They come around to the different offices and offer you a small repreive from your work!

To quote one of my favorite songs...

"Here comes the weekend honey, what's goin' on?
Should we put our feet up honey or party all night long?
Ohhhhh whatever, as long as I'm with you!"

I Don't Want a lot for Vday

Dear Boyfriend,

Valentine's Day is not important to me. I don't need a certain day to remind me how much you care about me. You remind me in a variety of ways throughout the year that I'm important to you. I know this. I don't want you to feel the pressure of Hallmark, 1800flowers, Godiva or your friends, and fall into the trap that is Valentine's Day. I am mature enough now, to understand, the very intense marketing strategies that are behind this (non)holiday and it is more important to me to know that you love me on days when you're not "expected" to say it.

However, if you're starting to feel the pressure and you DO want to get me something and you really don't have any idea what that may be, I'm here to help. I would *really* love these to go with my ring and necklace:

or these

or even these

Love,

Me

:)

And the Winner Is...

I won! I won! I won! I won! I won! I won! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Many thanks to Jen and Preppy Potato, I feel like the coolest kid EVER this morning!

Summer Lovin'

After all of this talk about Maine I received the Spring edition of the Land's End and I just *loved* some of their new items! Check them out!
This skirt, while probably wouldn't be flattering on myself, it just too cute. I love that it's in the nany and white which is so popular for the season, but not striped like so many other things I have seen!

What's NOT to like about these cute ballet flats?

I know that we all have entirely too many totes/bags (and LLBean totes really are my favorite) but these new designs are just so much fun for the spring and summer!I am loving the pink and brown! These have so much more character than the tradional totes! And last but not least, the perfect tote for all weather. It has a rubber bottom! I think I need to get one of these immediately as I am constantly putting my bags down where my shoes have left a nice watery pile of snow, slush and salt!

It's a Small World

In talking with One Hot Potato we realized that we vacation in the same place every summer- - York Beach, Maine! To illustrate my detail-ridden message on her blog today I'm posting pictures of what I was describing. The house that we vacation in and the houses that the rest of the families stay in. Has anyone else been to York? It truly is my favorite place. I'm not sure if it's because of the town, the area, the atmosphere or simply when I'm there I am *really* on vacation, but there is something about it that is dream-like:

It may be hard to see, but this is where we vacation! There are a number of families who go together and we all rent houses in a row on the "Bluff"! This is the section of the Bluff that we stay!
This is the view from the front yard...

Unexpectedly...

Yesterday I arrived home after work and working out to a large brown racquet-sized, Tennis-Warehouse box addressed to me. Seeing my boyfriends return address on the box I figured he was sending me one of my racquets after our vacation in AZ. (I didn't have enough room to bring mine home so he took it for me.) After I showered and ate dinner I got around to opening the box and, much to my surprise, there wasn't a racquet inside but a large white box with a silver brand sticker on it... Hmmmm... I was confused.

I opened the box immediatlely and was greeted by pink and green tissue paper around three items:

A beach towel, sandals and zip wallet in capri melon! ( I couldn't find the right wallet to show.) My own Vera pattern was discontinued and I couldn't decide which new one to go with, well, I think my mind is made up. :) My boyfriend was in Fort Wayne, Indiana for work and, knowing my obsession with Vera, decided to go to the Flagship store and browse around for me. I would say he did quite well. What a thoughtful guy. :) I would say I'm ready for my vacation to the beach even if it isn't going to be extremely warm, I can't wait to use these!

Prince?

Is anyone else still wondering why Prince was selected for the half-time show? Last time I checked I hadn't partied like it was 1999 in about seven years...

Nota Bene

Just in case anyone was wondering, I thought it important to let everyone know that I am *NOT* having any reconstructive work done to myself.
