There is No F in Way
I cannot believe it.
I just received ANOTHER EMAIL asking me to sponsor someone in their upcoming challenge.
Really.
This person is a co-worker of mine.
We are not THAT friendly.
I am a Teaching Assistant.
We make less than $20,000 a year.
IN ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE COUNTIES IN THE COUNTRY.
This sort of insensitive solicitation is VERY annoying.
Am I wrong here? Should I donate just a small amount? I can't TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I have people request of me every so often.
I sponser or donate only when I want to.
You are under no obligation to this person.
I state that I have certain things I back and I leave it at that.
This is always an awkward situation. I have many nieces/nephews who I mark as my first priority for donations. So it is hard (but necessary) to say "no, sorry, I can't". I know at my workplace there have been co-workers who have been in races and things like that. Usually they do an building-wide email which helps take the pressure off.
They are allowed to ask but they aren't allowed to expect everyone can/will/wants to donate.
Don't be offended but don't feel obligated either.
