Early Night Television

Okay, so I don't know if I've ever told you this or not, but I'm like... seriously good at Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Like REALLY good. And, you know me, I'm very modest, so you know that I HAVE to be really good if I'm telling you this. Right?

RIGHT?!?!?

Anyway- - one of the puzzles on W o F tonight? Was...

Hot Commodity.

H.O.T. C.O.M.M.O.D.I.T.Y.

It was like Pat Sajak was speaking. DIRECTLY to me.

I'm Sure it's Just Me...

What is the big deal about the Oscars? I know that it's the one night when "everybody who's anybody" is in the same place at the same time, but come on. I don't remember it being such a big deal last year- - maybe I wasn't paying attention...?

I took my algebra final last week. I got an 84. I was dreaming for an A but will DEFINITELY be satisfied with a B. That sh*t was H*RD.

Tonight I'm babysitting , and I usually don't mind babysitting- - ever- - because the kids go to bed and I just read/go online/do homework but tonight I'm exhausted and would really rather be home and in bed. It's Sunday night and I'm tired.

The Bachelor

Is anyone else watching The Bachelor? I haven't really gotten into it because I'm usually at class on Monday nights until 10, but I've caught it a few times and I did watch it last night. I was surprised that he let Jillian go. The other girls seem so young to me... they are my age, so I don't know why I feel that way. There was just something about Jillian, she seems so mature and responsible. Now I don't really care who he picks- - Melissa or Molly.

Thoughts?!?!?

Ted on Oprah

Is anyone else watching Ted (lastname?) on Oprah right now? Am I the only one who thinks he's in denial?!?!?

Privileged

Is anyone watching Privileged on the CW? Do those twins not remind you of Khloe and Kim Kardashian? It's the only thing I think about when I see them.

Thursday Night blah, blah blah

I'm still house/dog sitting so last night after jazz I headed over to the house and thought I should enjoy the beautiful evening it turned out to be so... I grabbed a couple of beers and hopped in the hot tub to watch the sunset. By. Myself. This may not seem like a huge deal but when you're from a family of 6 (plus whichever friend/relative/person happens to be at the house any given night) there just isn't much time to be alone. I'll admit- - it was a little weird at first...and I never drink alone so I felt like I was breaking some kind of rule, but it was so fun and so relaxing. I sat out there until the bugs came out.

When I went inside I put on my sweats and got comfortable in the best chair I have ever sat in. I need one. I can't find a picture of one online but it's kind of like a leather office chair...with a footstool, that reclines AND HAS A SWIVELING ARM THAT HOLDS YOUR LAPTOP. I have been in computer heaven this week because of this chair. It's so easy to watch tv and be on the computer at the same time. And your lap doesn't get hot. And you don't have to find a place to put your computer when you get up to go to the bathroom. So I spent the remainder of the evening watching Swingtown (um, can't quite figure this out... the whole 70's thing makes me uncomfortable for some reason and that lady, Susan? Looks like Brie Hodge and it's annoying) and downloading songs in itunes. I LOVE the ituned recommendation feature. I "found" over 20 songs last night that I didn't know existed that I now- - LOVE.

The sisters are graduating from high school tomorrow... wow. :)

Moment of Truth

Has anyone seen this show? I watched it for 10 minutes last night before I had to turn it off- - that stuff is CRAZY. How do they know which questions to ask? It seems like they know the answers to them before they're even asked...what a terrible show.

It's FaceSpace...right?

We were over at my aunt and uncle's having happy hour Saturday evening when we started talking about another aunt who has kind of wacky AIM away messages when my aunt says,

"Yea, and I heard she's got a ton of creepy things on MyFace."

Ha. Ha. Ha. I guess to some people MySpace, Facebook and AIM are one in the same.

Who watched Desperate Housewives last night? I am SO glad Kayla is gone she made. me. so. mad. I cannot tolerate that kind of wicked behavior and Lynette is justmyfavorite. I wish Tom would stop acting like such a creeper though, he's been bugging me for the past couple of seasons.

I like it much better when all of the women get together, hang out and actually SEEM like friends. Before it was too many seperate, unrelated storylines.

BUT SERIOUSLY. WHAT IS WITH SUSAN AND ADAM?!?!? Are you totally shocked?!?

Brothers & Sisters

Did anyone watch B & S last night? I hate to sound cliche, but... I laughed, I cried...I love that show.

December, November, October Road

Does anyone watch October Road? I started watching it last spring when it first came on and picked it up again when it started a couple of weeks ago. It's on Monday nights and I didn't have another show to watch from 10-11 but now I watch tv until 11pm on Sundays (Brothers & Sisters), Mondays (October Road), Tuesdays (Law & Order SVU), and Thursdays (ER) and, I usually go to bed around 9pm so this is making me VERY tired! It doesn't help that I teach a 6am jazz class T,W,H either. Last night I fell asleep at 10:20 so I missed the end of October Rd (not a huge deal, I'll watch it on ABC.com- - still don't have tivo/dvr), but does NBC have their shows online? It's a lot easier to watch tv on MY time rather than the scheduled time!

In other tv topics... has anyone seen Keeping Up With the Kardashians? It's on E and it is fan.tas.tic. Seriously. If you love creepy, reality tv and celebrity gossip you have GOT. TO. SEE. THIS. It's hilarious.

MamaWHAT?

First, I ran out of diet coke (the horror) and have been drinking the only other soda I had at home- - coke zero. I know I'm preaching to the choir but Coke Zero is NOT COOL and it is NOT DIET COKE and I am NOT IMPRESSED. Going to the store immediately to re-stock.

Secondly, I caught the end of The Biggest Loser the other night while I was folding my laundry- - right at the time the person who got voted off gives their farewell speech. Well this lady (she's hispanic- - this is important) is talking about what a great experience it was, blah blah, she met so many friends, blah blah, then closes with something to the effect of, "even though I'll no longer be on the show I'm going to work hard towards my goal and I'll be ONE HOT MAMACITA!" Except it sounded like, "ONE HOT MAMA____!" (imagine lips saying CITA with no sound). THEY BLOCKED OUT THE CITA part. Am I missing something? Is "Mamacita" durogatory? It's possible that with the lack of hispanic influence here in VT I just don't know about this, but um, my boyfriend, well, he's Mexican (and NOT from VT) and he didn't think that it was inappropriate... anyway, food for thought.

Grace (Potter) on Grey's

Okay, I'm super-late with this post but I didn't want to forget to mention it to all of you Grey's fans!

If you watched Grey's last Thursday you may remember a song that was played during the show called, "Falling or Flying." It's by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Grace and her group are from Vermont (!!!!!!) and she actually went to the same college that I did but left early to pursue her dream of singing and songwriting. The song, which has been a staple in the band's live shows, will be included on their first album for Hollywood Records, "This Is Somewhere," which will be released Aug. 7. If you don't remember it... check it out!

I fell asleep early on Sunday night so I missed Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters but I caught up with them last night. Can I just say, even if you haven't EVER seen Brothers & Sisters you should watch the season finale. It accomplishes the exact "feeling" that many other finales are lacking this season- - trust me, you'll love it. :)
